About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Environmental Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our dynamic Environment team. This role is suited to professionals with a strong foundation in environmental consultancy, ideally with experience in commercial property and site investigation. You will lead and deliver complex environmental projects, contribute to strategic initiatives, and mentor junior colleagues while continuing to develop your own expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and scoping of environmental projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory standards.
- Independently manage and deliver complex projects on time and within budget, including Phase 1 and Phase 2 assessments.
- Draft and review high-quality client communications, fee proposals, and technical reports.
- Oversee site investigation work, including supervision of junior staff and subcontractors.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work alongside Hollis’ Technical Due Diligence (TDD) teams on project delivery, whilst also responding to internal and external queries with confidence
- Contribute to business development activities, including client engagement, proposal writing, and profile raising.
- Mentor and support junior consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Perform technical research, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of sector trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to support project delivery and innovation across the team/department.
- Monitor and manage project KPIs including WIP, HIW, Lock-up, Write-off, and Gross Profit.
- Champion Health & Safety compliance across all project activities.
Skills and Experience
- Degree or MSc in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geology, Geography, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in environmental consultancy, ideally within the commercial property sector.
- Proven track record of delivering complex environmental projects and managing client relationships.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and environmental modelling or GIS tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Clean driving licence essential
