AtkinsRéalis is one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary consultancy firms offering unparalleled opportunities for talented individuals in search of a rewarding career. We provide more than just a job; we offer an opportunity to make a difference and shape the world for future generations and the environment.

Our UK Environment Practice is a vibrant network of approximately 600 people delivering world-class consultancy and advisory services. We focus on outcomes for our clients facing unprecedented challenges such as climate change, social inclusion, and rapid urbanisation. Our work influences how clients think, enabling better decisions and project delivery amidst disruption and change.

We are seeking an individual with practical experience in environmental coordination, assessment, and management to join our Planning and Environmental Consenting team in Bristol or Birmingham. You will collaborate with technical specialists on a variety of projects, assisting with environmental assessments and deliverables. Our projects include renewable energy schemes (solar, wind, hydroelectric), energy storage, major highways, rail projects, MoD site master planning, water infrastructure, and coastal defence for the Environment Agency.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate aiming to advance their career in a dynamic industry. You should have a degree in environmental or related disciplines, a good understanding of environmental technical specialisms, and be working towards chartership through IEMA or similar bodies. We support ongoing professional development through training, mentoring, and career growth initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in coordinating and delivering environmental work within multidisciplinary teams, including EIA, options appraisals, and environmental management.
  2. Contribute to high standards of environmental performance within engineering projects, influencing development and delivering optimal outcomes.
  3. Gather and edit information from various sources to produce clear, well-written reports.
  4. Complete work to a high standard, on time and within budget, and review the work of others.
  5. Support senior management with bid preparation and project management to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and quality delivery.
  6. Engage in Continuing Professional Development as per professional body requirements.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Master’s in environmental or science-related field.
  • Working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
  • Knowledge of environmental management, assessment, and technical specialisms; experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong report writing, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work at different locations and take on new challenges.
  • Self-motivated with enthusiasm and commitment to sustainability.

What we offer:

We support flexible working arrangements and aim to accommodate individual needs, fostering a diverse, inclusive workforce that values work-life balance. Our flexible policies mean no fixed hours, no requirement for full-time contracts, and flexibility in office presence.

Rewards and Benefits:

Competitive salary, regular benchmarking, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, options to buy or sell leave. Salary and benefits depend on experience and qualifications.

We are AtkinsRéalis. While our branding updates, you can still learn about our benefits at: atkinsrealis.com

Additional Information:
