Environmental Clerk of Works: South Wales / South West England

Position Details

Site-based, full-time role supporting projects across South Wales and South West England, with a salary range of GBP30K to GBP40K + Benefits. Join a leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancy passionate about sustainable construction and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

1. Monitor and audit construction site activities for environmental compliance.
2. Assist in the preparation and implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
3. Review contractor documentation such as method statements, RAMS, ITPs, MAFs.
4. Advise on mitigation measures and identify risks early.
5. Support environmental permit processes and reporting systems.
6. Conduct or coordinate ecological and environmental surveys (noise, air quality, water monitoring).
7. Liaise with contractors, consultants, and regulators.
8. Participate in Environmental Liaison Groups and stakeholder meetings.
9. Assist with environmental awards applications (e.g., CEEQUAL).

Requirements

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar site-based environmental role.
2. Full UK driving licence and CSCS card.
3. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM, IEMA).

Desirable

• Protected Species Licence(s).
