Job description

Join an independent salmon farming business with a reputation for low-impact operations, high welfare standards and a commitment to environmental stewardship across Scotland’s remote coastal regions. We are looking for a detail-oriented Environmental Analyst to support site development, regulatory compliance and environmental management across multiple marine locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving site development activities, including coordinating environmental impact assessments (EIAs), stakeholder consultations and licence applications across marine location
  • Managing consent compliance processes, supporting renewal applications, maintaining regulatory databases and preparing submissions for regulatory authorities
  • Monitoring and reporting on environmental impact, contributing to the Environmental Management System (EMS) and supporting continuous improvement across operations
  • Liaising with external contractors and statutory bodies, ensuring surveys, mapping and development assessments are completed to regulatory and operational standards
  • Staying ahead of industry developments, maintaining expert knowledge of Scottish aquaculture regulations, environmental frameworks and consent trends
  • Supporting budgeting and strategic planning, contributing data-driven insights and deputising for the Environmental Manager when needed


What we are looking for:

  • A degree in environmental/marine science or a related discipline
  • Experience with EIAs and regulatory frameworks in aquaculture
  • Familiarity with GIS tools and environmental sampling techniques
  • Membership with IEMA or equivalent (desirable)
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to remote sites
