Position: Environmental Advisor with Balfour Beatty on the Sizewell C Project
Main Duties:
- Track and analyse new regulations applicable to the business & update the environmental register
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the environmental management element of the COMPASS management system
- Develop Environmental ABC communications
- Carry out data analysis (cause & effects)
- Identify and assist in reducing consumptions
- Undertake monthly performance internal and external reporting, including Enablon and CarbonEco
- Define new KPIs where applicable
- Assist with developing a waste reduction strategy
- Compile and analyse actions to reduce waste on site and describe within the waste management plan
- Benchmark Bouygues UK against UK good practices
- Analyse waste-generating suppliers/materials and seek improvements with supply chain and subcontractors
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the Be Smart tool under the guidance of the Environment Manager
- Analyse feedback from Ecosite / Green Site Office
- Communicate good practices and improvements in HSQE Management Meetings
- Prepare data and contribute to HSQE Business Unit Management meetings
- Guide Pre-Construction Teams in environmental risk management
- Provide guidance to Project Teams on local regulatory requirements and Bouygues UK standards
- Review environmental reviews, assessments, and management plans, offering guidance for updates
- Deliver environmental training and awareness sessions
- Ensure project sites hold relevant legal licences & permits and manage environmental aspects effectively
- Support Project Teams in waste management plan implementation and reviews
- Assist in preparing for Ecosite and Green Site Office audits
- Guide Project Teams in monthly consumption reporting
- Support management and investigation of environmental incidents, aiding in preventive measures
Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience as an environmental advisor, ideally in construction
- Bachelor's degree in an environmental discipline
- IEMA associate member
- Driving licence
- Construction industry experience
