Job summary

Murphy is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework. The role focuses on promoting environmental best practice, conducting site inspections, and supporting project teams with risk mitigation and compliance across major construction initiatives.

The candidate will bring an Environmental Degree and experience in construction environmental law, with knowledge of permits, biodiversity, and waste management, while contributing to a growing E&S function within

Qualifications

• Experience in an Environmental Advisory role.
• Qualified with an Environmental Degree.
• Working knowledge of environmental law in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of ecological mitigation, consents/licensing and planning discharge.
• Understanding of Water management and pollution prevention.
• Familiarity with Biodiversity Net Gain, Waste management, Statutory nuisance and contaminated land.

Responsibilities

• Establish and promote best practice in environmental matters with SHES.
• Carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with policy and statutory provisions.
• Lead incident investigations and recommend preventive actions.
• Collate environmental statistics for reporting to SHES.
• Advise project teams on environmental responsibilities and risk controls.
• Identify environmental issues and help implement project controls.
