Job summary

Principal People seeks an Environmental Advisor to support major infrastructure projects on the South Coast on a hybrid basis. You will guide site teams on environmental compliance and drive improvements across projects, ensuring best practices are embedded and understood.

The role involves working with an experienced environmental team, implementing strategies, conducting audits, and engaging with subcontractors and stakeholders to uphold standards and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Relevant environmental qualification (ISEP or equivalent) or degree.
• Experience in construction/infrastructure/utilities sectors.
• ISEP Practitioner membership would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical environmental guidance to site and operational teams across the framework.
• Support implementation of environmental strategies, policies and management systems.
• Conduct site inspections, environmental audits and compliance reviews.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor environmental performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support subcontractors and supply chain partners in meeting environmental requirements.
• Build relationships with project teams, clients and external stakeholders.

Principal People are working with a leading infrastructure contractor, recognised for its commitment to employee development and career progression, to recruit an Environmental Advisor supporting projects across the South Coast on a hybrid basis.

Working alongside an experienced and supportive environmental team, you will play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance, driving improvements in standards and embedding best practices across projects.
