Job description

Award-winning, market-leading engineering organisation, multi-disciplinary experts in sectors including rail, telecoms and power distribution, require an Environmental Advisor for their rail division.

The role:

  • Give environmental advice to colleagues within the business
  • Assist / carry out investigations for any on-site environmental incidents
  • Conduct site inspections
  • Arrange, review and carry out environmental desktop surveys, walkabouts and site surveys in order to support Environmental and Social Appraisal ESA/ESMP development
  • Arrange Preliminary Environmental Appraisals (PEA’s), which will support ESA/ESMP production
  • Head up the production of ESA/ESMP’s for projects
  • Produce mitigation plans and reports based on surveys carried out, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Review environmental surveys and share results / findings with colleagues
  • Support with the implementation of environmental schemes
  • Ensure compliance with ISO4001 by helping to maintain the integrated management system
  • Produce reports on matters related to sustainability, CSR and environmental for regulatory bodies
  • Assist with environmentalaudits and accreditations
  • Support provision and delivery of environmental training and briefings
  • Assist with protected species licences and liaise with Natural England
  • Assess and update Environmental Awareness and Impact Register

Requirements:

  • Experience as an Environmental Advisor, ideallywithin the rail sector
  • PTS
  • IEMA
  • Strong knowledge of environmental best practice and legislation
  • Driving licence
