Job description
Overview

Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for an Environmental Advisor to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). This role is employed by Mott MacDonald, but will involve working across the joint venture with Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues. The SPA Project is 330 km long and is under construction to be completed during AMP8, with a further 260 km of water transfer pipelines and infrastructure planned for AMP8.

What you will be doing

You will provide on-site support to the enabling and delivery teams during the pre-construction and construction stages of the pipeline project. You will undertake inspections and audits to monitor compliance with environmental legislation and SPA requirements. You will assist the Construction Environmental Managers (CEM) and Environmental Manager (EM) in delivering strategic priorities and in preparing/reviewing environmental information and documentation for construction. You will support the planning and delivery of environmental surveying and consenting for future SPA infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and SPA requirements
  • Undertake non-infra and infra site inspections and internal audits
  • Provide guidance and feedback from audits and inspections to drive continuous improvement
  • Work collaboratively across SPA contracts to deliver the Construction Environment Management Plan at appropriate construction stages
  • Develop and deliver training (e.g., case studies, toolbox talks) to delivery and enabling teams
  • Carry out environmental incident/near-miss investigation and reporting
  • Support future project planning, including assisting with document production as necessary
  • Support the CEM in consulting with permit/consent applications when required

  • Experience in writing reports and dashboard production
  • Full clean UK driving licence
