A leading company in the power cabling sector seeks an Environmental Advisor for their onshore HVDC Project in Durham. This long-term contract involves supervision of construction activities and ensuring adherence to environmental standards. The ideal candidate will hold relevant qualifications and have significant experience in environmental oversight for large civil projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an ECoW / Advisor.
  • Valid CSCS or CCNSG Card required.
  • Membership with the Association of ECOWs is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor construction activities.
  • Ensure compliance with project plans and environmental best practices.
  • Monthly KPI reporting, including waste and material data gathering.

Job description

NESFircroft is partnering with an industry-leading Power Cabling client to source an Environmental Advisor for their high-profile onshore HVDC Project. The Advisor will be based on-site in Durham, supervising and monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans and environmental best practices.

This is a long-term contract opportunity, initially for 12 months, with potential for up to 4 years of work.

Please note: the role has been assessed as inside IR35 (Umbrella and PAYE only).

Candidate Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Environment and/or Ecology or equivalent
  • Valid CSCS or CCNSG Card
  • At least 5 years’ experience as an ECoW / Advisor
  • Membership with the Association of ECOWs (desirable)
  • Active Continuing Professional Development as an ECoW / Advisor
  • Experience on HVDC / Large Civil Projects as an ECoW
  • Knowledge of UK law, legislation, and consenting processes (SEPA, etc.)
  • Ability to ensure compliance with Environmental Plans and Procedures at a site level
  • Experience in monthly KPI reporting, including waste and material data gathering
  • Client-facing with confidence monitoring tier contractors
  • Proactive, self-motivated, team-oriented
  • Fluent in English and proficient in Microsoft Office
