Environmental Advisor - Construction

Location: London

Contract: Permanent – Full Time

Responsibilities

We are seeking an Environmental Advisor to support various projects in implementing Kier’s Sustainability Framework and ensuring environmental compliance. The role involves supporting live projects and pre-construction teams with bids and best practices.

Key duties include:

• Supporting tenders by integrating environmental mitigation and sustainability innovations
• Assisting pre-construction sites with documentation for legal and system compliance
• Conducting environmental inspections and audits using Kier’s Novade platform
• Reviewing environmental incidents and developing learning outcomes
• Preparing sustainability reports and tracking progress against targets
• Ensuring data accuracy in our Environmental reporting system RIO
• Sharing case studies and best practices with teams to support bids
• Chairing meetings to promote the sustainability agenda
• Supporting the delivery of our Building for a Sustainable World Strategy

Candidate Profile

• Passion for sustainability and reducing carbon emissions
• Degree in environmental or scientific discipline (preferred)
• Experience in an environmental role
• Knowledge of BREEAM, LEED, WELL schemes
• Experience with environmental KPIs and ISO 14001 documentation
• ISO 14001 internal auditor experience (advantageous)
• Understanding of environmental concepts and management systems
• UK Driving Licence
• Security Clearance (BPSS and SC) or ability to obtain it
• Willingness to travel to sites
