Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join Leonardo Electronics UK (LEUK). The role involves working with and supporting the Environmental & Reporting Manager to ensure LEUK's environmental performance is effective, and to assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental strategies that promote sustainability.

Location and Work Arrangement

The position is based at any of our key UK sites but will involve work across all offices and facilities, combining onsite and home-based working.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide environmental and energy management support as part of our UK-wide HSE Team.
2. Maintain and assess environmental and energy policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance and alignment with company policies.
3. Support the maintenance of Environmental and Energy Management Systems, including ISO14001 and ISO50001.
4. Build relationships with stakeholders to promote a positive environmental culture.
5. Assist in implementing carbon reduction strategies, focusing on Scope I, II, and key elements of Scope III emissions.
6. Analyze and collate environmental performance data.
7. Develop environmental reporting and provide data to Italy via Service Now.
8. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
9. Conduct site inspections and manage corrective actions.
10. Collaborate on environmental system requirements and conduct audits.
11. Stay updated on legislation and industry best practices, communicating changes to relevant departments.
12. Monitor environmental trends with the HSE Data Analyst and identify improvement areas.
13. Develop environmental projects to raise awareness and improve performance.
14. Inspire action for environmental sustainability and participate in relevant committees.
15. Travel within the UK as needed to support the HSE Team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or HND in an environmental subject.
• Minimum Associate Member of IEMA.
• Proven track record in environmental, energy, or sustainability improvements.
• Knowledge of ISO14001 and/or ISO50001 management systems.
• Experience with HSE management systems and UK environmental legislation.
• Ability to foster a culture of environmental awareness.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Resilient and capable of working under pressure.
• Experience in electronics or chemical industries is desirable.
• Auditing experience and good presentation skills are advantageous.
