Who we are:

Scripture Union Scotland is a national charity, with around 120 staff and over 2,500 volunteers. Our vision is to see every child and young person of Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus.

Our centres regularly host school groups participating in residential experiences, youth groups enjoying weekend breaks and a variety of SU Holidays. Making the most of the stunning opportunities that Scotland's countryside affords, we use outdoor activities to build relationships with young people, enabling them to have fun, develop new skills and work together.

We currently have a vacancy for an Environmental Activities Instructor to be based at our Lendrick Muir Centre, near Kinross. Lendrick Muir is set in 120 acres of grounds with accommodation for up to 150 guests.

Purpose:

As an Environmental Activities Instructor, you will be part of our Schools and Activities instruction teams, delivering a range of activities to our guests. You will also support the development of new environment activities and maintain the activity equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To support the Lead Environmental Instructor in the delivery and development of the Environmental Education and activities offered by the centre
  2. To continue to develop the Environmental Programmes offered by Lendrick Muir
  3. Look after guests during school residentials, including some evening work
  4. Participate fully in the life and ministry of the Lendrick Muir Centre and the wider Scripture Union Scotland organisation

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking applicants who have a passion for outdoor activities and a desire to combine their faith and interest in the environment to work with children and young people. Applicants for this post should have experience of working with children and young people in a guest environment, ideally in instruction activities, and hold two NGB Awards (as well as a current first aid certificate). A full UK Driving License is essential (preferably with D1 + E).
