Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an Environment Manager to provide professional environmental and sustainability guidance across the Region/Programme. You will help identify risks, drive improvements, and ensure compliance with environmental legislation while supporting sustainable strategies across projects and contractors.

Working with internal teams and regulators, you will implement EMS practices, build stakeholder relationships and promote best practices.

Qualifications

• Practical experience managing environmental and sustainability matters within construction, infrastructure or multi-disciplinary programmes.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience delivering improvements via environmental management systems such as ISO 14001.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert environmental and sustainability advice to stakeholders across the business.
• Support delivery of environmental and sustainability strategies, plans and improvement programmes.
• Work with project teams and the supply chain to identify practical solutions that improve environmental performance.
• Manage assurance and governance activities to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
• Lead the implementation and ongoing development of environmental management systems.
• Develop communications, briefings and case studies to promote best practice and share learning.
• Drive a positive environmental culture and sustainable ways of working across the organisation.
