Job description

Description

We're a team of remarkable people achieving an extraordinary mission: keeping the nation safe and secure.

Our work is critical. We are responsible for delivering the next warhead for the UK's nuclear deterrent; working at the forefront of nuclear technologies that keep the nation safe.

We support the government’s strategy through various facets: supporting the weapon programme for the nuclear deterrent, supporting the UK’s counter-terrorist programme, identifying potential nuclear tests worldwide, and building an expert group in nuclear science and technology to give the UK real depth in these areas.

Start an extraordinary career; grow your skills, learn from industry experts, and become part of a community at one of the most unique companies in the UK.

Our two-year programme offers an exciting opportunity to join our career pathway. We’re seeking talented graduates and aspiring future leaders to help shape the future.

Our graduate development scheme focuses on ESH&Q. Here, you will develop your skills, acquire new ones, and work with remarkable people in unique facilities on extraordinary projects.

How the programme accelerates your career:

The first 3 months will immerse you in the ESH&Q function, understanding the business and the function. Afterward, you will specialise in one of the following disciplines:

  • Environment (Closed Monday 7th October)
  • Nuclear Safety Case
  • Quality

*Please select one of these options when applying.

Within each discipline, you will experience various placements to develop core technical skills and contribute to keeping the UK safe and secure.

As part of our community, you will be involved in activities related to nuclear warheads, threat reduction, manufacturing solutions, or infrastructure development. Due to the sensitive nature of our work, further technical details are classified, but rest assured, you'll be engaged in remarkably interesting projects!

Placements into real projects are central to your development, ensuring you acquire necessary technical expertise and understanding of our complex operations. These placements are flexible to focus on specific technical or business areas.

All graduates will receive leadership, business, and soft skills training, and support to pursue professional registration.
