Full-time, Permanent

Lead Environmental, Health & Safety Excellence in a Global Automotive Environment

Are you an experienced EHS professional looking to drive real change in a high-impact leadership role? This is your opportunity to join a globally recognised automotive manufacturer undergoing a major period of investment and transformation.

Based at a large, high-volume production facility in High Peak, Derbyshire, this is a site leadership role where you’ll play a critical part in reshaping safety, sustainability, and compliance across a dynamic manufacturing environment.

As EHS Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of robust Environmental, Health & Safety systems across the site, ensuring full compliance with UK regulations, ISO standards, and global best practices.

With the site entering a major modernisation and investment phase, you’ll be deeply involved in CAPEX project support, ensuring EHS is embedded across new equipment, layouts, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will also line-manage a team of three direct reports and collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, engineering, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the site EHS strategy in line with group objectives
  • Lead ISO compliance and site certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
  • Ensure full environmental compliance, including permitting, audits, and sustainability initiatives
  • Provide key EHS support on all CAPEX and site upgrade projects
  • Conduct and oversee risk assessments, root cause investigations, and corrective actions
  • Lead EHS training, internal committees, and employee engagement programmes
  • Manage EHS data reporting, metrics, and regulatory documentation
  • Be the site’s main point of contact for compliance inspections and internal audits
  • Support workers’ compensation investigations and occupational health initiatives
  • Promote behavioural safety and a zero-incident culture

Your Profile:

  • Experience in a senior EHS role in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Proven experience supporting CAPEX projects and factory upgrades from an EHS perspective
  • Solid understanding of UK legislation and ISO 14001 / 45001 frameworks
  • Skilled in auditing, coaching, and engaging teams at all levels
  • Data-driven mindset and confident in managing EHS reporting systems
  • A degree is not essential, but relevant professional qualifications and practical experience are key

What is on Offer:

  • Salary up to £83,000
  • £650 per month car allowance
  • 10% annual bonus
  • 6% matched pension contributions
  • Private healthcare for you and your family
  • Career development with a global manufacturer
  • A high-impact role in a site undergoing significant modernisation and growth

Ready to Lead a Site into the Future?

This is more than a compliance role — it is a chance to shape the future of a major manufacturing site, influence investment strategy, and build a world-class safety and sustainability culture from the ground up.
