Four Recruitment is supporting a client in the Burnley area with a proactive SHEQ Advisor role. You will help develop Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards across the business and work closely with Operations to keep people and processes safe and compliant.

The role offers practical, day-to-day responsibilities in audits, incident investigations, training and data analysis, with scope across ISO management systems and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Experience within SHEQ, Health & Safety, Quality or Compliance roles.
  • Practical, curious and proactive approach.
  • Ability to apply SHEQ requirements day-to-day.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of SHEQ policies, procedures and processes.
  • Carry out workplace inspections and risk assessments; identify hazards and recommend improvements.
  • Support management of contractor and supplier SHEQ requirements.
  • Provide advice on safe working practices and SHEQ procedures.
  • Assist with SHEQ training and awareness activities.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances; identify root causes and actions.
  • Support integrated management systems and ISO accreditation activities.
  • Assist internal and external audits; ensure actions are completed.
  • Maintain accurate SHEQ records and compliance information.
  • Collect and analyse SHEQ data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support environmental monitoring and sustainability initiatives.
  • Assist with customer, retailer and certification audits; respond to enquiries.
  • Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Sales and other teams to promote SHEQ culture.

Job description

I am currently supporting a client of mine based in the Burnley area with their recruitment of a proactive and motivated SHEQ Advisor. In this role you will support the ongoing development of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within SHEQ and gain broader experience across health & safety, environmental management, quality and compliance in a manufacturing environment.

Working closely with the Operations team you'll help ensure the people, processes and working environment remain safe, compliant and continually improving.

You'll be a visible presence across the business, providing practical advice, supporting audits and inspections, investigating incidents and helping colleagues understand and apply SHEQ requirements in their day-to-day roles.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of SHEQ policies, procedures and processes

  • Supporting the ongoing management of the company's integrated management systems, including various ISO accreditations
  • Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring actions are followed through to completion
  • Maintaining accurate SHEQ records, documentation and compliance information
  • Collecting and analysing SHEQ data and helping identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Supporting environmental monitoring and sustainability initiatives
  • Assisting with customer, retailer and certification audits and responding to technical or compliance enquiries where required
  • Working collaboratively with Production, Procurement, Sales and other teams to promote a positive SHEQ culture

The ideal candidate for this role is someone that has exposure working in a SHEQ, Health & Safety, Quality or Compliance role, someone who is practical, curious and proactive.
