Qualifications

  • Proven background in environment and release management, covering both on-premise and cloud strategies.
  • Strong technical knowledge across Java, APIs, web services, and service virtualisation.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, AIX, Windows, and AWS.
  • Skilled with databases including SQL, DB2, Oracle, and MySQL.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, code branching, and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Subversion.
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles and APM tools.
  • Comfortable working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery models.

Responsibilities

  • Shaping and delivering the overall environment and release strategy across a complex technology landscape.
  • Planning, configuring and maintaining test environments, ensuring reliability and consistency.
  • Building dashboards to monitor environment health, performance, and software versions.
  • Managing deployment risks, issues, and cross-platform dependencies.
  • Implementing governance for access and security across environments.
  • Driving the move towards greater automation and Continuous Integration (CI).
  • Supporting QA and development teams in troubleshooting release and environment issues.
  • Producing environment roadmaps and coordinating availability with stakeholders.
  • Scheduling downtime with minimal disruption to ongoing testing.

Job description
