Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer - Oxfordshire, United Kingdom (On-site)

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer will collaborate with experienced Traffic Signals specialists in Oxfordshire. Due to growth and customer demand, we are expanding our Traffic team in this region.

What You’ll Do:

As a Trainee Traffic Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with an experienced Traffic Engineer to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and test Traffic Signals, Traffic Lights, and related electrical equipment in and around Oxfordshire.

Training is a practical, on-the-job experience aimed at helping you achieve an NVQ in Electrical Installations and sector-based certifications such as ECS and the NHSS Chapter 8.

Who You Are:

You have an interest in troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment. You may have experience with outdoor lighting, CCTV, controllers, detection boxes, telecommunications, or radio equipment, or have completed related college courses or diplomas.

Key Requirements:
  • Motivated and eager to learn through on-the-job training and online courses
  • Experience in electrical testing, maintenance, repair, or installation, or holding an electrical qualification/diploma
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to troubleshoot faults
  • Full UK Driving Licence and residence in Oxfordshire
  • Willingness to undertake a Drugs & Alcohol test for compliance
