Trainee Traffic Installation Technician
Telent are now looking for a Trainee Traffic Installation Technician to join a talented team of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting specialists. This is a “Field based” role – the successful applicant MUST hold a full UK driving license and be prepared to travel across the region and be comfortable working in all weathers.
Are you looking for an opportunity where you can develop your field-based, hands-on experience? Do you already have Electrical Installations knowledge or experience? Do you hold an Electrical Engineering (or similar) Diploma / Certificate and looking to kick-start a new career? Are you looking for an accredited and structured training programme to really test and develop your knowledge?
When you join our Engineering Team at Telent, you'll be empowered to innovate and drive common solutions, working closely with technical experts who are proud of the impact their work makes. Come join a high-performing team doing complex and critical work.
Trainee Traffic Installation Technician - What you’ll do:
As a trainee within our Traffic Signals team, a typical day would see you working closely with one of our experienced Traffic Engineers to install, maintain and test a range of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting units and all Electrical components and equipment that complement, in and around the Gloucestershire regions.
Training will not just be in a classroom; it’ll be a mixture of ‘on the job’ learning, desk-based and online learning, which will help you progress towards achieving an NVQ Level 2 in Highways Electrical Installations (led by LANTRA), then the NVQ Level 3, and finally, all Sector based certifications such as ECS and the National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) Chapter 8.
Trainee Traffic Installation Technician - Who you are:
You will naturally have an intrigue and interest in field-based Engineering, and ideally already have some exposure to anything Electrical Installations focused – whether that’s working with electrical equipment, lighting, controllers, detection boxes etc., or you’ve had some experience in a College course. If you don’t have experience, and you are keen to start a new career, we encourage you to apply.
