Telent is seeking a Trainee Traffic Installation Technician to join our Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting team in Gloucestershire. This is a field-based role requiring a full UK driving license and willingness to travel and work in all weather conditions.
If you have electrical installation knowledge or experience, hold an Electrical Engineering diploma/certificate, and seek a structured training program to develop your skills, this role is ideal.
As part of our engineering team, you'll work with experienced traffic engineers to install, maintain, and test traffic signals and electrical components across Gloucestershire. Training includes on-the-job, desk-based, and online learning, progressing towards NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Highways Electrical Installations, as well as certifications like ECS and NHSS Chapter 8.
Ideal candidates are interested in field-based engineering, with some exposure to electrical installations or a willingness to start a new career. Key requirements include motivation, problem-solving skills, a full UK driving license, good communication, and computer literacy.
