Trainee Traffic Installation Technician

Telent is seeking a Trainee Traffic Installation Technician to join our team of Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting specialists in Gloucestershire. This is a field-based role requiring a full UK driving license and willingness to travel across the region in all weather conditions.

Ideal candidates will have some electrical installation knowledge or experience, or hold an Electrical Engineering diploma/certificate and are eager to start a new career with structured training leading to NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Highways Electrical Installations, along with sector certifications such as ECS and NHSS Chapter 8.

Responsibilities:

• Assist experienced Traffic Engineers in installing, maintaining, and testing Traffic Signals / Lighting units and electrical components.
• Participate in on-the-job, classroom, and online training programs.

Candidate Requirements:

• Interest in field-based engineering and electrical installations.
• Experience or education in electrical work is preferred but not mandatory.
• Motivated to learn and problem-solve.
• Full UK driving license.
• Good communication skills and computer literacy.
• Willing to undertake drug and alcohol testing.
