Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is seeking individuals interested in a career as a SEN Teaching Assistant (TA). Prior experience working with children or supporting adults with additional needs is preferred, but candidates with no experience who are eager to start are also encouraged to apply.

We collaborate with a large organization that provides education support to individuals with moderate and complex learning difficulties, autism, speech & language challenges, and social, emotional & mental health needs.

Teaching assistants will support students aged 5-16 throughout their academic day, either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

The role involves:

  • Providing tailored support to children with SEMH and SEN needs
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for learning and development
  • Offering academic support individually or in small groups
  • Assisting the lead teacher with classroom activities

The ideal candidate:

  • Possesses a teaching assistant qualification (desired but not essential)
  • Has experience supporting pupils with SEN, either voluntarily or professionally
  • Experience working with children in youth settings is advantageous
  • Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Contract: Temporary, with potential for permanent roles
  • Hours: Term-time only, Monday to Friday
  • Start date: ASAP
