Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to apply established electrical procedures to routine problems under guidance, contributing to design and analysis activities.

You will perform calculations for the power distribution system, prepare design calculations, and support project teams while developing skills in standard productivity tools and learning MDR's business and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• 0–3 years experience in oil and gas.
• Learning the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines as applicable.
• Learning design techniques and analysis methods.
• Preferably a Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or a member of a professional engineering society.

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with company procedures, work instructions, guidelines and standards; seek guidance when required.
• Perform detailed design engineering, analysis, and calculations on basic tasks.
• Complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, analyses, reports and procedures.
• Organize work to meet deadlines set by others.
• Communicate information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
• Understand project scope, specs, schedule and inter-discipline requirements.
• Perform calculations for the power distribution system.
• Produce consumer lists from available equipment data.
• Size electrical equipment and components.
