Qualifications: ENTRY LEVEL POSITION - Must be knowledgeable with CAD drafting, degree not required.
Strong math skillset and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Education: CAD
- Associate degree or certification in CAD drafting or civil engineering;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential; knowledge of other CAD tools like MicroStation or Bentley OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
Experience: open to training
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in roadway design or civil engineering drafting preferred but will train.
Technical Skills:- Operational Experience in CAD software for roadway modeling and drafting.
- Ability to perform earthwork calculations and drainage designs. Strong math skill set.
- Ability to learn civil engineering standards and codes related to road construction projects.

Technical Proficiency:
- Strong understanding of geometric principles, math skills, drafting standards, and roadway construction methods.
- Attention to Detail:
- Ability to create technical drawings that minimize errors during construction.
- Communication:
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting designs to engineering team and field.
- Bi-lingual is a plus.
- Problem-Solving:
- Capability to identify design challenges early and implement effective solutions.
- Time Management:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Work Environment:Typically, office-based with occasional site visits.
- Collaborative work with engineers, surveyors, field supervisors/foreman, and contractors.
- May require overtime to meet project deadlines.
- May include weekends and evenings.
- Professional attitude & conduct.
- Multi-tasking, interpersonal communication, problem solving, and time management skills are needed.
- High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Willing to travel and work away from home when and if required.
- Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and the policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by Pittman Construction Safety and OSHA.
