Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Farnborough is seeking an Aircraft Fitter I to assist with inspection, maintenance and repair of aircraft systems under supervision. You will help with paperwork, ensure quality, tag customer property and safely operate ground support equipment.

Candidates should have a recognized aviation apprenticeship, experience in a Part 145 environment, and knowledge of UKCAA regulations. The role includes travel with the team and participation in lean initiatives in busy hangar

Qualifications

Secondary school education with GSE Grade C or above in English, Mathematics.
Recognized Aviation industry approved apprenticeship with experience within a part 145 organization.
Working knowledge of UKCAA regulations, process specifications, repair station and quality control manuals.

Responsibilities

Perform aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications under supervision of certifying staff.
Complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs promptly.
Ensure that all work meets quality standards and specifications.
Identify and tag customer property; store components securely.
Operate ground support equipment following standard procedures.
Ensure customer property protection and proper waste disposal.
Use material tracking system to create parts demand and charge labor to work orders.
Apply 6S and Lean initiatives to keep shops and hangars clean.
Assist with movement of aircraft as required.
Support aircraft certification and final testing including flight tests as required.
