A quick look at the role
The Enterprise Solutions Architect is responsible for defining the future architecture, applications, and technologies for the Biffa technology portfolio. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to ensure that changes to our systems and new systems follow our technology roadmap and meet our requirements for scalability, security, and performance.
Working alongside the Enterprise Architect, this role offers a great opportunity for someone wishing to progress from a Solution Architect to an Enterprise Architect, with the scope to shape our application landscape at an enterprise level.
Your core responsibilities
- Develop and communicate the strategic direction for technology solutions, aligning them with Biffa's business goals and objectives.
- Partner with business segment leaders to support and deliver key technology priorities.
- Perform architecture and technology evaluations of new solutions and drive rationalization and re-use decisions.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for solution development, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and timelines, including maintaining as-is architecture maps and documentation.
- Design and validate solutions to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability, considering data volume, user load, and system availability.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers, assessing capabilities, managing relationships, and ensuring solutions integrate effectively with the organisation's ecosystem.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in developing end-state architecture, mapping architecture to business capabilities, and creating a path to achieve the end state using industry-standard frameworks.
- Experience with cloud-based applications, API development, and web services.
- Experience working in BAU continual improvement settings across complex SaaS and legacy architectures.
- Advanced knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, Agile practices, and tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Microsoft technologies such as F&O, D365 CRM, Power Apps is highly beneficial.
