Job summary

Skipton Building Society seeks a dedicated risk professional to strengthen its Risk Management Framework and embed robust practices across the three lines of defence. You will deliver insightful risk reporting, engage stakeholders with expert guidance, and drive improvements in governance and risk culture.

Experience in Risk, Compliance or Audit within a regulated financial services environment is essential, with strong knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks and reporting tools.

• Proven ability to produce high quality risk reporting and translate data into insights.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance the Group Risk Management Framework across the business.
• Produce high quality risk reporting, MI and insights for decision making and governance.
• Act as a trusted risk partner, building stakeholder relationships and providing guidance and challenge.
• Identify emerging and thematic risks using data to inform recommendations and drive positive outcomes.
• Leverage risk systems and technology to improve reporting and efficiency.

Job description

Play a key role in strengthening the Group's Risk Management Framework by supporting its continuous improvement, embedding effective risk practices, and ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and risk appetite. Working across the three lines of defence, you'll provide insightful risk reporting, oversight and challenge, helping to identify emerging risks, enhance governance, and drive a strong risk management culture across the Group.,

• Support and enhance the Group Risk Management Framework, ensuring effective and consistent risk management practices across the business.
• Produce high quality risk reporting, management information and insights to support decision making and risk governance.
• Act as a trusted risk partner, building strong stakeholder relationships and providing expert guidance, challenge and support.
• Identify and assess emerging and thematic risks, using data and analysisto inform recommendations and drive positive outcomes.
• Leverage risk systems, data and technology to improve reporting, automation, efficiency and overall risk management capability. Experience within Risk, Compliance, Audit or a similar function in a regulated financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks, governance, risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to produce high quality risk reporting and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide effective challenge across all levels.
• Experience supporting the development, embedding and continuous improvement of risk frameworks, methodologies and best practices.
