What We're Looking For:
  • A strong background in regulated or complex organisational environments, with a deep understanding of UK financial services.
  • Public sector experience is highly beneficial.
  • Proven experience in enterprise risk management, compliance, and data governance.
  • Strong knowledge of incident management and the ability to interpret and act on complex data sets.
  • Recognised risk management qualifications (e.g., IRM, ISO 31000, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in audit and risk management, with the ability to assess and improve internal controls.
  • Proven ability to lead a risk team, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level risks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Exceptional skills in data quality assurance and risk reporting.
  • A confident communicator with a track record of stakeholder engagement at senior levels.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Leading, managing, and continuously improving the Risk Management Framework by gathering feedback, researching best practices, and recommending enhancements to the Head of Risk & Compliance.
  • Ensuring the framework remains proportionate and effective in supporting the organisation's risk and issue management.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to business functions—providing leadership, guidance, and challenge to embed risk management effectively across the organisation.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability.
  • Delivering high-quality risk and data reporting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensuring compliance standards are met and exceeded, with a focus on UK financial sector regulations—it's essential you have a sound understanding of FSCS.
