SSE PLC invites graduates to join the Enterprise Risk & Assurance Graduate Programme, starting September 2027, based in Glasgow or Perth. This two-year programme builds commercial and analytical expertise while developing proficiency in governance, risk and assurance across SSE.
You’ll gain exposure to assurance activities, risk management, data analysis and stakeholder engagement, with mentoring and progression opportunities into Risk & Assurance roles after completion.

At SSE, our Risk and Assurance department plays a critical role in helping the business identify and manage risk, strengthen controls, improve performance and support informed decision-making across the organisation. Through these activities, the team provides insight, challenge and assurance that help SSE achieve its strategic objectives.
Our Enterprise Risk & Assurance Graduate Programme is designed for graduates who want to develop commercial and analytical expertise while making a real impact from day one. Over two years, you'll gain broad exposure across SSE, building a strong understanding of our business, strategy and operations while developing the skills needed for a long-term career in assurance, governance, risk or audit.
You’ll gain experience across a range of assurance activities, including:
Alongside real business experience, you'll benefit from mentoring, structured development opportunities and support from experienced colleagues across SSE. You'll also have access to a wide network of graduates and business leaders.
Following successful completion of the programme, you'll have the opportunity to progress into a role within Risk & Assurance, helping to strengthen governance, manage risk, improve performance and support informed decision-making across SSE.
You’ll have a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in any discipline. We welcome applications from graduates of all academic backgrounds.
