Job summary

DXC Technology in Farnborough is seeking a Network Architect to design, develop, and govern enterprise network architectures across data and voice domains. The role drives architectural excellence from strategy through to operations and leads cross-functional teams to align with client requirements and industry standards.

• Experience in networks, LAN/WAN, or management information systems.
• Strong experience with network systems, data and voice.
• Experience with proprietary software and hardware.
• Analytical and creative problem-solving for network architectures.
• Project management skills and ability to manage time and priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leadership ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan & Strategy: Define and maintain network architecture roadmaps aligned with client and organisational strategy.
• Plan & Strategy: Research technological advancements to ensure voice and data networking solutions stay aligned with standards.
• Plan & Strategy: Evaluate cost analyses and vendor comparisons for large-scale projects.
• Plan & Strategy: Recommend investment decisions based on current and future network performance.
• Design & Transition: Generate conceptual, logical, and physical network architectures with documentation, testing analyses, and risk assessments.
• Design & Transition: Determine methods for implementing new technologies to enhance performance.
• Design & Transition: Assess customer needs and select appropriate architectural approaches.
• Design & Transition: Ensure designs pass tollgates before progressing.
• Obtain/Build & Delivery: Lead cross-functional teams to design, troubleshoot, and implement network architectures.
• Obtain/Build & Delivery: Leverage resources from different teams to meet customer needs.
• Obtain/Build & Delivery: Lead major proposal efforts and strategies to win business.
• Obtain/Build & Delivery: Measure feasibility of approaches and assess current/future systems.
• Operate & Support: Troubleshoot complex data and voice network issues.
• Operate & Support: Research and analyze complex network problems and downstream effects on client satisfaction.
• Operate & Support: Ensure network solutions remain operationally stable and within SLAs.
