Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a Solution Architect – Infrastructure & Networks to lead enterprise-scale network and infrastructure design across a multi-site, hybrid environment in London and Krakow.

You will define patterns for LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, datacentre, and identity integration, embed security by design, and work with IT, Security and business teams to drive resilience and transformation.

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure and network architecture for enterprise-scale solutions.
• Strong security principles and exposure to security-conscious environments.
• Experience with large-scale transformation or modernization initiatives.
• Ability to work cross-functionally across IT, Security and business teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Experience operating in multi-site or international organisations.
• Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure models and modern networking (SD-WAN, zero trust desirable).

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end infrastructure and network solutions aligned to enterprise standards and business needs.
• Produce high-quality architecture artefacts (HLDs, LLDs, roadmaps, technical designs).
• Define architecture patterns across LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, datacentre, and identity integration.
• Embed security-by-design principles and ensure ISO27001 and NIS2 compliance.
• Provide governance and technical assurance through architecture forums and design reviews.
• Support project delivery through technical leadership, planning, and risk management.
• Drive improvements in service resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate solutions and guide strategic decisions.
• Support hybrid infrastructure strategies across on-prem, cloud, and manufacturing environments.
