Credera in London is hiring an Enterprise Data Architect to shape data capabilities for public sector and regulated clients. You will translate domain models into implementable cloud patterns, lead data migrations and mentor engineers in a fast-paced environment.

The role focuses on governance, data products and collaboration across business and technology teams to deliver outcomes with high quality and auditability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to data strategies, target architectures and roadmaps aligned to outcomes.
  • Define and maintain data domains and models (canonical, analytical, reference data).
  • Translate requirements into data architecture designs, data products and contracts.
  • Apply enterprise data standards and maintain architecture models and decisions.
  • Support governance, global and domain decision rights and data quality.
  • Embed quality, metadata, lineage and privacy into architecture and delivery.
  • Shape master-data and reference-data approaches for domains or workstreams.
  • Lead data migration, mapping, reconciliation and cutover planning.
  • Collaborate with platform/solution architects to implement cloud schemas and pipelines.

Job description

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements
  • We require at least 5 years of experience in enterprise or domain data architecture, information architecture, data modelling and delivery.
  • We require experience defining data domains and conceptual, logical and physical models that align business concepts with technology implementation.
  • We require experience applying canonical, analytical, shared and reference-data patterns appropriately.
  • We require experience contributing to data strategies, principles, standards, target states and transition roadmaps.
  • We require a strong understanding of data ownership, stewardship, data products, contracts and federated governance in enterprise environments.
  • We require experience applying data governance, quality, metadata and lineage disciplines, with emphasis on traceability and auditability.
  • We require experience designing data architectures that meet regulatory, privacy, security, classification and retention requirements.
  • We require experience supporting data migration or system modernisation, including source-to-target mapping, reconciliation, quality controls, coexistence and cutover planning.
  • We require an understanding of how domain and logical models translate into physical cloud implementations, including schemas, pipelines, integration, lakehouse and warehouse patterns.
  • We require the ability to work across business and technology teams and explain modelling, governance and implementation trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • We require experience leading a small team or workstream and delivering agreed outcomes to time, cost and quality expectations.
  • We require strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess risks, resolve ambiguity and identify pragmatic solutions.
  • We require experience supporting and mentoring architects, analysts or engineers.
  • We require active SC clearance for this role.
  • Public sector or regulated industry experience, such as government, healthcare or financial services, is desirable.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms and Spark-based ecosystems, such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake or equivalent, is desirable.
  • Experience supporting domain-oriented lakehouse, warehouse or data-product implementations is desirable.
  • Experience with master-data management, shared identifiers and reference-data governance is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of TOGAF or an equivalent enterprise architecture framework is desirable.
  • Awareness of relevant industry data, interoperability and messaging standards is desirable.
  • Familiarity with data modelling and architecture tools and repositories is desirable.
  • Familiarity with SQL and data serialisation or interface formats is desirable.
  • Data management or architecture certification, such as CDMP, DCAM or TOGAF, is desirable.
  • Cloud platform architecture certification, preferably with a data specialism, is desirable.
  • Experience using AI or Agentic techniques in the role, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, is desirable.

  • You will support data ownership, stewardship and federated governance approaches, clarifying global and domain decision rights.
  • You will embed data quality, metadata, lineage, classification, privacy, traceability and auditability into architecture and delivery.
  • You will shape shared-identifier, master-data and reference-data approaches for defined domains or workstreams.
  • You will shape data migration and modelling transition approaches, including source-to-target mapping, reconciliation, dependencies, coexistence and phased cutover.
  • You will work with platform and solution architects to translate domain and logical models into implementable cloud schemas, pipelines, lakehouse, warehouse and integration patterns.
  • You will lead small teams or workstreams, communicate trade-offs to client stakeholders and mentor architects, analysts and engineers.
