If you enjoy developing data strategy, we would love to hear from you!
We are recruiting for a forward-thinking Enterprise Data Architect to join our innovative team and our phenomenal journey to drive the data agenda at Aviva.
At Aviva, we are on an exciting mission to make things simpler for our customers and our people, by building an excellent service that’s low on customer effort and high on customer satisfaction. Data is at the heart of this mission, and we need Architects like you to truly get involved and craft our vision for data and help turn it into reality!
A bit about the job:

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, as you will lead the roadmap with a strong awareness of business opportunities and constraints, define data products, and advise on their efficient utilization. You will also engage with senior leadership to convey data opportunities, support data innovation, and guide prioritization of development for optimal business outcomes.
Aviva operates a “smart working” policy, meaning that we spend approximately half of our time working in an office. This role is based in Bristol, York, Norwich, or London.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience in developing data architecture strategy and execution in large organizations like Aviva, especially within Financial Services; experience with Martech/Customer Data Platforms is an advantage.
- Track record of defining data roadmaps with a 5 to 10-year horizon, balancing known and anticipated business needs while enabling simplification.
- Skills in making sophisticated decisions considering multiple factors, including balancing near-term value with long-term sustainability.
- Ability to influence through building positive relationships and strong communication tailored to the audience.
- Expertise in data lifecycle, technologies, patterns, domain-driven design, insights, analytics, machine learning, master and reference data management, integration, data warehousing, NoSQL, data quality, metadata, and data compliance. Specific expertise in delivering Martech/CDP platform strategy, including customer data resolution, delivery of customer 360°, marketability, campaigns, digital integration, and GDPR compliance.
- Outward-looking with a solid understanding of industry data strategies, trends, technologies, and business models. Experience with Snowflake and certifications are advantageous, along with knowledge of AWS, Salesforce, and Adobe Experience Cloud.
