We are working with a leading global consultancy that is continuing to invest significantly in its Data & AI capability, helping major organisations design and deliver modern data architectures that underpin analytics, AI and wider digital transformation.
They are looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect who can combine deep architecture expertise with strong consulting and client-facing skills.
This is a senior role for someone who can define enterprise data architecture and strategy, shape complex transformation programmes and provide architectural leadership from initial discovery and design through to delivery.
The role can be operated out of any of our clients UK offices on a hybrid, 3 day per week basis. It can pay a base salary of between £95k - £115k + bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the design of enterprise data architectures underpinning modern analytics, AI and digital transformation programmes.
- Defining end-to-end data architecture strategies, covering data integration, modelling, lineage, quality, metadata and Master Data Management (MDM).
- Defining target-state architectures, architecture principles, standards and roadmaps for complex enterprise environments.
- Conducting architectural discovery and shaping data workstreams and technical delivery approaches across Azure, AWS, GCP and Snowflake environments.
- Working with Data Engineers, Data Strategists, AI specialists and business SMEs to design and assure scalable data architectures.
- Leading enterprise data modelling, including conceptual, logical and physical models, and establishing appropriate modelling standards.
- Working with senior client stakeholders to understand business challenges, define data requirements and evaluate technology options.
- Advising clients on technology selection, architecture decisions, investment priorities and associated business value/ROI.
- Providing architectural leadership and assurance throughout delivery, including data models, pipelines, integration patterns and platform services.
- Helping clients develop data strategies, operating models and architectural roadmaps to modernise their data estates.
- Designing data architectures capable of supporting AI, GenAI and Agentic AI products and use cases.
Experience needed:
- You will have significant experience within Enterprise Data Architecture, ideally gained within a consulting or complex enterprise environment.
- Strong experience defining and delivering enterprise-level data architectures, rather than solely data platform or solution architecture.
- Excellent enterprise data modelling capability, including conceptual, logical and physical modelling.
- Experience with data modelling tools such as Erwin, ER Studio or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, data quality and Master Data Management.
- Experience defining architecture principles, standards, reference architectures and target-state roadmaps.
- Experience designing platform-agnostic architectures spanning cloud and enterprise technologies.
- Strong understanding of data ingestion, integration, ETL/ELT, APIs and semantic layers.
- Experience architecting data from enterprise applications including SAP, Oracle, Salesforce and Workday.
- Experience selecting data and integration technologies and clearly articulating architectural trade-offs, commercial considerations and ROI.
- Knowledge of cloud data ecosystems across Azure, AWS, GCP and/or Snowflake.
- Experience with MDM and integration technologies such as Informatica and MuleSoft would be advantageous.
- Experience developing data strategies, Data/Analytics Operating Models or Information Governance frameworks.
- Experience designing data solutions supporting AI and Agentic AI.
- Strong consulting skills, including senior stakeholder management, structured problem-solving and the ability to lead through ambiguity.
- Experience working within Agile environments using approaches such as Scrum and Kanban
