In this role you will:

• Act as a Technical SME, designing and developing innovative automated solutions to complex problems utilizing cloud environments.
• Design and support custom-built applications within HSBC's Azure environment, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing deployments.
• Build and manage Azure Infrastructure, including Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, private endpoints, and Azure Storage.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Support CI/CD practices through deployment automation and version-controlled infrastructure.
• Integrate monitoring, logging, and diagnostics for custom applications using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
• Integrate with AI-related Azure services such as OpenAI and contribute to strategies involving LLMs.
• Ensure custom-built applications comply with HSBC standards, governance, controls, SLDC, DEPL, AI Governance, and legal & regulatory requirements.
• Support and extend existing architecture in collaboration with the principal architect and core development team.
• Produce well-documented, maintainable infrastructure configurations and communicate implementation details effectively with engineers and stakeholders.
• Contribute to the evolution of architecture and infrastructure decisions within an evolving technical landscape.
• Utilize strong problem-solving skills to investigate issues, troubleshoot deployment challenges, and propose secure, scalable solutions.
• Promote a culture of continuous assessment and improvement, addressing weaknesses in the bank’s control plane.
• Support HSBC Global Businesses and Functions in enhancing cybersecurity awareness and promoting HSBC's cybersecurity efforts.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Experience in an enterprise-scale organization, including hands-on experience with complex data center environments, in roles such as DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Security Engineer.
• Expertise in one or more leading Cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or Alibaba Cloud.
• Proven experience managing Azure App Services, Azure Container Apps, and Azure Storage solutions.
• Hands-on experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
