Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect for a 18-month contract in Milton Keynes with hybrid working. The role leads the Technology & Architecture workstream, delivering secure, scalable enterprise architectures across complex systems and secure environments.

You will define standards, governance and roadmaps, provide design authority, and engage with senior stakeholders to guide technology investment and procurement decisions.

Qualifications

• You must have extensive enterprise architecture experience across tech, infrastructure and security.
• Experience in governance frameworks and architecture standards is essential.
• Ability to develop target-state architectures and technology roadmaps.
• Proven capability to review designs and assure technical architectures.
• Strong risk and technical debt management and security-minded design.

Job description

Enterprise Architect – £600 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: Milton Keynes – Hybrid
Contract: 18 months
Clearance: DV required / willing to undergo DV

Parity is delighted to partner with our client, a public sector organisation, to recruit an experienced Enterprise Architect to support a major capability development and transition programme. This is a senior role providing strategic architectural leadership across technology, infrastructure, security and information, ensuring technology solutions are secure, resilient, sustainable and aligned with organisational objectives.

The Role

You will lead the Technology & Architecture workstream, defining and governing enterprise architecture across a complex portfolio of systems and secure environments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Define architecture principles, standards, reference architectures and integration patterns.
• Develop target-state architectures and technology roadmaps.
• Provide architecture governance, assurance and design authority.
• Review and challenge solution architectures and technical designs.
• Identify and manage architectural risks, dependencies and technical debt.
• Ensure solutions adopt a security-by-design approach.
• Provide architectural input into technology investment and procurement decisions.
• Work closely with senior technical, business, operational and security stakeholders.
• Present architectural recommendations to governance boards and programme leadership.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to architects and technical specialists.

About You

You will have:

• Significant experience in Enterprise, Infrastructure, Systems or Security Architecture.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems integration, technology strategy and governance.
• Experience developing architecture standards, governance frameworks and technology roadmaps.
• Proven experience reviewing and assuring technical designs and architectures.
• Strong understanding of architectural risk, technical trade-offs and technical assurance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
• Experience within government, defence, security, regulated or critical infrastructure environments would be highly advantageous.
• A Level 6 qualification in a relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Relevant professional membership or equivalent professional standing.
• DV clearance is required for this role. Candidates without current DV clearance must be willing and eligible to undergo the clearance process.
