Job summary

Sanderson in Scotland is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to own strategic customer relationships and lead architectural delivery across compute, storage, networks, and security. The role demands governance, risk management, and a track record of delivering large-scale IT estates.

You will operate as a trusted bridge between Sanderson and key clients, guiding modernisation programmes, leading architecture boards, and driving automation and IaC initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive EA experience at senior level, shaping architecture and strategy.
• Experience with MSP/CSP or enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Proven ability to manage architectural relations with large customers.
• Strong infrastructure background: compute, storage, networking, DR, data centre.
• Commercial awareness: cost modelling, licensing and change control.
• Experience with architecture governance and assurance processes.
• Capable of translating strategy from enterprise to detailed design.
• Participation in architecture boards, CABs and governance forums.

Brand new role to the market for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join the business throughout a continued period of growth. The role will suit a senior architect with strong infrastructure, governance, and customer-facing experience.

You will become an architectural lead, acting as the trusted bridge between the client and customer; providing technical leadership, drive modernisation initiatives, and ensuring the evolution of customer's estates. About You

You are an experienced architect who enjoys operating at the intersection of technology, governance, delivery, and customer engagement. You will also be comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders, defending technical decisions, and taking accountability for architectural outcomes.

• Significant experience as an Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, Lead Architect, or similar senior architecture role
• Experience operating within Managed Service Provider (MSP), Cloud Service Provider (CSP), or enterprise infrastructure environments
• Proven experience managing architectural relationships with large and complex customers
• Strong infrastructure architecture background across: Compute, Storage, Networking, Backup and recovery, Disaster recovery and Data centre infrastructure
• Commercial awareness including cost modelling, licensing, solution costing, and change control
• Experience working with architecture governance and assurance processes
• Ability to work comfortably from enterprise strategy through to detailed technical design
• Experience participating in architecture boards, design authorities, CABs, and governance forums
• Strong HLD and LLD authoring and review experience
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF is advantageous
• Public sector or regulated industry experience
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, GDPR, and security governance frameworks
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and platform standardisation
• Interest in AI-assisted tools and emerging technologies
