Job summary

Xpertise Recruitment in the East Midlands is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect on a contract basis to lead a major architecture and transformation programme. You will shape long-term architectural direction, govern standards, and support critical business transformation in a complex multi-business environment.

The role offers hybrid working, an initial 6-month term, and a daily rate of £750, outside IR35, with extension potential based on programme requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect in large, complex organisations.
• Strong background delivering enterprise transformation, systems integration, and application rationalisation programmes.
• Experience establishing architecture governance, standards, and operating models.
• Demonstrated success creating technology strategies and enterprise roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document the current technology and application landscape across multiple business entities.
• Identify architectural risks, technology duplication, inefficiencies, and opportunities for consolidation.
• Establish enterprise architecture frameworks, governance processes, and technology standards.
• Create and maintain a technical debt register with clear remediation priorities.
• Develop a strategic multi-year enterprise architecture roadmap.
• Provide recommendations for systems integration, application rationalisation, and modernisation.
• Build stakeholder alignment around future-state architecture and transformation plans.
• Lead architecture planning activities for enterprise-wide ERP and business transformation programmes.

Enterprise Architect (Contract)

East Midlands | Hybrid Working | £750 per day | Outside IR35 | Initial 6-Month Contract

We're seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead a major architecture and transformation programme within a complex, multi-business environment. This is a high-impact contract opportunity where you'll play a key role in shaping the future technology landscape, defining long-term architectural direction, and supporting critical business transformation initiatives.

The Opportunity

Joining an organisation undergoing significant growth, integration, and technology change, you'll be responsible for assessing the current-state architecture, establishing governance frameworks, and creating a strategic roadmap to modernise systems, improve integration, and support future business objectives.

This role offers the chance to influence senior stakeholders, drive architectural best practice, and lay the foundations for large-scale transformation programmes, including future ERP initiatives.

• Demonstrable success creating technology strategies and enterprise roadmaps
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership level
• Experience managing technical debt and driving architectural improvement initiatives
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
