Job summary
The post holder will work as a healthcare professional within the Lung Cancer Specialist Nurse Team and assist in the care provision alongside the senior Enhance Care Practitioner when required.
They will be expected to utilise clinical skills within the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients within the lung cancer service receive holistic, timely, and high-quality care.
The post holder will demonstrate compassionate leadership and effective communication skills, supporting decision-making, and promoting person-centered approaches in health and care.
Main duties of the job
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual treatment interventions within a set field of practice for patients by virtue of enhanced clinical judgement and close liaison with members of the MDT and the senior Enhanced Clinical Practitioner.
- Provide specialist, clinical knowledge to colleagues, patients, and carers/relatives.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, supporting people in making decisions, planning care, or seeking to make positive changes, using Health Education England's framework to promote person-centered approaches in health and care.
- Work in conjunction with the MDT to clearly define values, direction, and policies impacting upon care.
- Evaluate their own practice, and participate in multidisciplinary service and team evaluation, demonstrating the impact of enhanced clinical practice on service function, effectiveness, and quality.
