The Enhanced Community Dementia Service is looking to recruit to 2 part-time dementia service secretaries. The Enhanced Community dementia service covers 2 areas across Argyll & Bute, encompassing the East and the West, i.e. Oban Lorn and the Isles/Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay.

The base for the Oban Lorne and the Isles/Mid Argyll Kintyre and Islay post will be either Lochgilphead or Oban (dependent on where the successful candidate resides).

The post holder will provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the Enhanced Community Dementia Service.

The post-holder will handle essential administrative tasks, acting as the main point of contact for the team and supporting its efficient operation.

This includes managing correspondence, organizing meetings, and maintaining records while prioritizing confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with complex information. The post holder will respond to the day-to-day requirements of the Enhanced Community Dementia Service as a whole as well as providing general support to the multi-disciplinary team and other team members, as needed.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Computer literacy - ECDL preferred,
  • Previous NHS secretarial experience preferred,
  • 3 credit standard grades which must include English and either secretarial studies or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to take own initiative and prioritising own tasks in complex situations and to meet multiple deadlines,
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team,
  • Calm discreet, confidential, sensitive approach to dealing with patients.

This is a part-time posts is 18.5 hours per week, to be worked in accordance with service requirements.

This post is fixed term/secondment roles for a period of 6 months.
