Job description
Overview

Are you a qualified Enhanced Care Practitioner (ECP), currently undertaking your ECP course, or looking for a new challenge? We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join the advanced practice nursing team to support the colorectal surgical team with the management of patients on a faster diagnosis pathway (FDS). The role will also include supporting the Colorectal Enhanced Recovery (ERP) Pathway. The service operates Monday to Friday.

This post is for 1 x 37.5 hours per week and is a permanent position. If you are a qualified ECP, you will be offered a Band 7 position. If you are currently a trainee ECP, we welcome your application and, if successful, you will be offered a Band 6 position; on completion of the course you will be upgraded to a Band 7 as hospital policy. For applicants starting their career in advanced practice, this post offers funding for the PG Cert ECP Apprenticeship course; if successful you will be offered a Band 6 ECP post, and on completion of the course you will be upgraded to a Band 7 as hospital policy.

Responsibilities
  • Support the ACP Team with the Colorectal Fast Track Service.

  • Communicate with the ACP Team, Consultant Colleagues, and Primary Care Colleagues.
  • Support patients with the Enhanced Recovery Programme.

  • Commitment to working within the Colorectal ERP and related pathways.
