Emergency Department & Urgent Care
An exciting opportunity to join a team of experienced practitioners working in a co-located Urgent Care (UC).
We are seeking experienced autonomous healthcare practitioners in primary care, urgent care, minor injury/illness, paramedicine, physiotherapy, or emergency medicine to work in a progressive and dynamic environment, managing a diverse patient group (adults and children) presenting with urgent illness and injury to the ED and UC.
Support and supervision will be provided to help the successful candidate develop a holistic knowledge and skill set for practitioners working within the urgent care environment. There will be opportunities to support and shape the service going forward, as well as potential rotational opportunities across the ED.
If you want to be part of a proactive team committed to providing the highest standard of emergency and urgent care and have the enthusiasm and motivation to make a difference, please contact Yvonne Staple (Urgent Care Lead - yvonne.staple@nhs.net) or James Rayner (Deputy Urgent Care Lead - james.rayner1@nhs.net) for an informal visit or discussion.
You will undertake autonomous assessment of a diverse range of patient presentations in all ages presenting to the Emergency Department and Urgent Care to determine clinical diagnosis, provide treatment, and plan appropriate onward care. The primary patient cohort will consist of minor injury and illness presentations.
You will be part of the wider urgent care team of ECPs (nursing/physio/paramedic), supporting nursing and healthcare assistants, and working alongside medical and general practitioner colleagues.
At the RUH, we prioritize people, working together as one team to make a difference for our patients, colleagues, and community. We value everyone's contributions and are committed to creating a compassionate, inclusive environment. Our staff networks celebrate diversity and promote kindness and civility, believing that diversity makes us stronger.
