• Experience tutoring English outside of school or with students with additional needs is desirable.

Job description

We are seeking dedicated and passionate English Tutors to work with pupils outside the traditional school setting across Gateshead. You will provide one-on-one tuition in homes, schools, or community hubs to help students improve their English Literature and Language skills, gain confidence, and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide tailored English sessions based on individual student needs and learning styles.
2. Track student progress and provide feedback using our bespoke reporting platform.
3. Build positive relationships with students, encouraging growth mindset and self-confidence.
4. Support students in exam preparation, homework, and overall skills improvement.
5. Adapt teaching methods to suit different levels and learning styles.

Key Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of the UK English National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 or 4.
• Experience tutoring English outside of school or with students with additional needs is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and rapport-building ability.
• Qualified Teacher Status in English or equivalent tutoring experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Child workforce Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
