The Role:
The appointed English Teaching Assistant will work closely with the English department, supporting pupils in Year 10 and Year 11 as they prepare for their GCSE exams. You will assist in delivering targeted interventions, small group sessions, and one-to-one support to help students strengthen their reading, writing, and analytical skills. You will also be expected to help prepare revision resources, assist with exam practice sessions, and encourage students to develop confidence in their written work.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in English, English Literature, English Language, or a related subject. A strong academic background and a genuine interest in education are essential. You should be confident working with young people, capable of explaining ideas clearly, and motivated to help students achieve their best. Previous experience working with young people, either in a school or tutoring capacity, would be an advantage, but is not essential.
