Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025, or sooner
Salary: Inner London MPS/UPS (up to £60,092) + SEN allowance + a generous TLR (September 2025 pay award pending)

Are you an English Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people? A pioneering SEMH school in East London is seeking an English Teacher to teach English KS3 and 4, and lead the school's core curriculum (English, Maths and IT).
This SEMH setting is a national leader in the education of young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. The school is redefining how society approaches the education of our most vulnerable young people. Staff here are not only empowered with industry-leading training and CBD but are also deeply supported through a team of highly qualified mental health professionals, including psychotherapists.
As an English Teacher, you'll be leading on delivering curriculums that are tailored, rigorous and rooted in trauma-informed practice. You'll also be driving the agenda on cross-curricula literacy and reading. As Head of Core Curriculum, you'll also be line managing Maths and ICT (taught by separate subject specialists). Whether you come from a mainstream background or have worked in specialist settings, you'll be guided by your emotional insight and your unwavering belief in the potential of every student.
The ideal Teacher will:
Have QTS and experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
Be warm, empathetic and emotionally intelligent
Bring humour, patience and persistence to relationship-building
Show a passion for inclusive and transformative education
Be ready to lead on the strategic development of the core curriculum
