English Teacher with English Responsibility Lead

Salary range: GBP29,466 - GBP40,633 per annum
(This role attracts a Responsibility Allowance for the additional responsibility of English Lead, equating to GBP3,000 per annum)
40 Hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Brantwood Specialist School, located on the outskirts of Sheffield, offers a dynamic outdoor land and craft-based curriculum, including clay work, jewellery making, felting, weaving, forge work, and green woodwork. The school is part of Ruskin Mill Trust and provides full-time education for children with significant social, emotional, or educational difficulties, emphasizing practical skills, biodynamic gardening, and animal care.

We seek a Special Education Teacher and subject leader specializing in Literacy. The role involves planning, coordinating, and quality assuring the Literacy/English curriculum across the school, ensuring consistent, engaging, and therapeutic learning experiences that promote student achievement.

You will have:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status with experience in leading and quality assuring Literacy/English
  2. Experience with the National Curriculum assessment framework
  3. Excellent communication and organizational skills
  4. A practical, engaging approach to teaching pupils
  5. Experience working with children with learning difficulties/disabilities
  6. Experience across multiple key stages and preparing students for assessments (preferred)
  7. Experience with specialist education and Steiner Waldorf Curriculum (desirable)
