Vacancy: English Teacher
Location: Telford, Shropshire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified Teacher of English to join our dedicated and successful English department from September 2025. This is a permanent, full-time position, suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a passion for delivering high-quality English education.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will be joining a strong and collaborative department committed to inspiring a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking in all students. There may also be the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5, depending on experience and departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated English lessons

Monitor and assess student progress in line with school and national standards

Maintain high expectations for behavior, achievement, and personal development

Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement

Support the wider school ethos through pastoral and enrichment activities

Person Specification:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Strong subject knowledge and a clear understanding of the English curriculum

A proven track record of high-quality teaching or successful teaching practice (for ECTs)

Excellent organisational and communication skills

A commitment to professional development and reflective practice
