An inclusive and dynamic Alternative Provision in Hackney is seeking a passionate English Teacher to join their team from April 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with students who require additional support outside of mainstream education, helping them develop a love for learning and achieve academic success in a nurturing and structured environment.

Role Highlights:

• Full-time, permanent position at an Alternative Provision in Hackney
• Teach English to students who may have faced challenges in mainstream education, including those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs or special educational needs (SEN)
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that inspire confidence and resilience in students
• Work closely with support staff, SEN specialists, and therapists to ensure a holistic approach to learning
• Develop students’ literacy skills, communication, and confidence in reading and writing
• Monitor student progress, providing tailored interventions and support as needed
• Foster a positive and structured learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged

Experience & Qualifications:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching English at secondary level, ideally in an alternative provision, PRU, or SEN setting
• A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to teaching students with additional needs
• Strong classroom management skills and experience working with students who require extra support
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Enhanced DBS check required
