English Teacher - SEN School, Southampton - September start

Academics are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable English Teacher to join a thriving SEN School in Southampton on a full-time, permanent contract. This position begins in September.

The ideal candidate is an engaging English teacher who enjoys working in an SEN environment. A passion for working with children and young people with additional needs, including Autism and Challenging Behaviours, is essential.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering English lessons across the school to meet the individual learning needs of students. Due to the nature of the setting, flexibility and creativity in teaching methods are important to keep students engaged.

Applicants should be qualified as an English teacher or have recent experience planning and delivering English lessons up to KS4.

The school is a mixed 7-16, local authority-funded SEN day school in Southampton, primarily serving children with high-functioning ASD. The staff team has extensive experience in special education and therapeutic support for pupils whose needs cannot be met in mainstream settings. The school's vision is to nurture aspiration, develop resilience, and empower learning, aiming to make a positive, lifelong difference in pupils' lives.
